Christmas is always such a manic time for us, so it makes sense to have a day off in the middle of the year (it's like our mid Winter Christmas).
After some research and discussion we decided on sprint car racing just out of Rotorua. As we set off for the day in the minivan there was a bit of hesitation as the weather was looking a bit dodgy, and it became even worse the closer we got to our destination. When we arrived we were told to suit up in the wet weather gear and before we knew it Brian and Leanne were off, zooming around the track. The rest of us followed in pairs, and Trilby (our inhouse photographer) snapped shots as the cars sped past. Then it was time for the second go - we were feeling much braver and determined not to let Brian have the fastest time. With a wet track and enlarged egos, people were spinning out left right and centre with the goal of bragging rights for the fastest lap time in the back of everyone's minds.
Trilby took out the top spot, followed by Brian. A great day out and highly recommended if you're in the Rotorua region.
